![]() Fishman Full Circle Pickup Which size do I need? The Full Circle Pickup from Fishman is offered in three different thread sizes, since not all bridges use the same sized adjuster wheels. Of the choices, the SAE ¼x20 is the most common bolt size by far. Almost all of the adjustable bridges we've ever sold at Gollihur Music are of this size (the only exception; at one time we carried a limited quantity of bridges that had threaded inserts - these were of the somewhat less common 6x1 metric persuasion). The easiest and most fool-proof way to tell which size you need is to take out your current adjuster wheel and count how many threads there are in a ½ inch along its threaded edge (since the wheel doesn't quite have a full inch of threads). If this measurement shows that your current bridge has 10 threads per half inch (20 threads per inch), similar to the graphic at right, you need the SAE 1/4'-20 version of the Full Circle. If it has 9 threads in a half inch (18 per inch) than it's possible you have the new 5/16'-18 version. (You can double-check by measuring the end diameter of the threaded post - the new version is threaded onto a larger post, 5/16'.) If you aren't even close to 20 threads per inch, try counting threads next to a metric ruler - if the threads are spaced exactly one millimeter apart, you've got a metric-threaded bridge (and need the 6x1mm version of the Full Circle). These printable gauges from Bolt Depot (a purveyor of hardware items) may also help you to count threads accurately. ![]() If you are uncertain about the size, here's another tip: Go to a decent sized hardware store (e.g. Ace Hardware or True Value franchise) and visit their aisle with all the little drawers with all the different sized nuts, bolts, etc. Buy one or more nuts (usually less than 35 cents each) in the size you think is correct, remove the adjuster from your bridge, and see which size bolt fits.

Description
The Wilson K4 Pickup for the double bass is the professional choice providing the very best amplified acoustic sound one can possibly get including patented individual volume adjusting of each string. The natural wood sound is focused and gives the punch that the bass has as well as the body and warmth. It is clean and clear and the sound is great for pizzicato and arco playing without absolutely no feeding back at any level. With the Wilson K4 double bass pickup you can adjust the volume level of each string individually by slightly rotating the pickup – making the perfect balance between the output from your strings. A feature not covered by any competitor. These pickups are made in Denmark and come with a 5 year warranty.
The Wilson K4 Pickups are mounted directly in the bridge only 9 mm below the strings and gathered to a Switchcraft 121 extension jack, where they pick up a fine balance between the strings and the signal from the body. Special mounting tools and mounting bracket are included with each set of K4 pickups.
In 1983 Danish engineer Jørgen Wilson started the first attempts to develop a new pickup system for sound amplification of the double bass based on piezo transducers, which, placed on a string instrument, makes it possible to adjust volume on every single string manually. Wilson could with his trained ears as an amateur jazz bassist adjust the development proces of the Pickup system to its maximum capacities. The developed Wilson Pickup System turned out to be groundbreaking in the field of double bass amplification and has ever since resulted in a growing demand from bass players worldwide. Today the Wilson Pickup System is used by leading bassists all over the world.
